I finally found the little Ace head from Smash Tokyo Toys I was given....a looooong time ago, which kind of got displaced for a while after our house move......so I made this lil fella with it.......SquidAce... ....I just used the head as it came with no finishing so it still has that grainy texture from rapid prototyping which I kind of matched with the Aves Apoxie.

I picked up a spare orange Petit Astrolapin with the intention of stripping it back to white like the original 1/6th Astrolapin by Mr Clement. It turned out somewhat different....I continued the '2001 A Space Odyssey' theme instead....

This version started out as a bit of an experiment but now I've decided to produce these along the same lines as RGB and CMYK. Each figure will be hand made and so will be unique and differ slightly from each other. As with RGB and CMYK these stand around 5.5" tall. Hatch is responsible for the more hazardous elements the Colonists encounter - securing, analyzing and destroying if necessary.....

Picked up this SDCC Exclusive version pretty cheaply, but apart from the lack of briefcase the figure is in excellent condition.... .....without a doubt, for me, this is the best version....the only other one I really liked was the proto all grey....oh....and the 5ft tall versions  =)

These figures are made by DMS. They have quite a detailed backstory originating on Planet 44 collecting dust samples from nebula storms in the desert regions - some of the most dangerous and toxic regions of the planet. This Camo Duster unit is a later adaptation designed to work in the forest regions and there are also some Medic units deployed in the desert to repair the original Dusters.

Another little update for these guys....been trying out some different faceplates....here's one of the hatches.... ....I most probably won't be using this exact version on the vinyl or resin versions....but definitely something along these lines.

Finished adding the foliage/fur/hair.....I prefer the multi tones to just a single colour but I need to play around with some of the details a bit more and maybe adding a little something....and taking away too.....

A little while ago I was sent a TRX figure by Zuchna to customise. TRX is a robot made from wood with articulated arms and stands about 8cm. I really like wooden figures and the simplicity of this one  means a lot of potential for customisation.....also the DIY version of this is a mere $15....a bargain if ever there was.... .....I have most of the idea for the custom finalised in my head and

I've now finalised the legs and I've been working on making removable faceplates....this one is called RGB and goes about whatever world it is on colouring the environment to it's liking.....

This is a prototype for a vinyl release of my 'Oberth Colonist' figures.....the original series was designed to be one-off pieces made in a combination of Super Sculpey and Fimo with an average height of around 3.5". The vinyl version is a little different....there will be more detail to the figure and it'll also be bigger, around 5" - 6". Another addition to these will hopefully be a set of

Soooo.....these guys are coming along slowly......here's a couple more I've started. The first one has now been polished a little and so has the second. The third one is still at the sanding stage. I have still to fully work out the map style I'll be using on the bodies and they all will be getting a little more work on the faces with a wash of paint.....

Cool new figure from Mexican outfit Alimana.....Spore Trooper is an 8" tall soft vinyl figure and comes in the three colours you see here - red, green and black....there's also a blank available for customising. Here's my initial WiP sketch of 'Bomb Disposal Bunny' using a figure called 'Olee' by marine/Jouwe.... ....plenty more work to be done here even though the figure is quite small, standing around 8cm tall. Hopefully more will be added over the weekend.
