TRX Ent - Update

Well this (like most other projects atm) is taking it's sweet time....my excuse is that I had to re-do most parts as I got the scale all wrong....so anyways....here's some of the components waiting to be assembled and along with some others and a few yet to be made.....

Camo Duster by DMS

These figures are made by DMS. They have quite a detailed backstory originating on Planet 44 collecting dust samples from nebula storms in the desert regions - some of the most dangerous and toxic regions of the planet. This Camo Duster unit is a later adaptation designed to work in the forest regions and there are also some Medic units deployed in the desert to repair the original Dusters. Further units are under construction.....

......One of the features I really like about these is the visible seams and bubbles in the surface, all the little defects add to the overall weathered and used feel. My only reservation is I might go over it with a little wash to bring out the recesses and crevices a bit more.

The figure measures 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide and is quite a weighty lump of resin. It's definitely worth checking out Dan's blog and store for these and forthcoming editions.

Oberth Colonist Proto For Vinyl - Update

Another little update for these guys....been trying out some different faceplates....here's one of the hatches....

....I most probably won't be using this exact version on the vinyl or resin versions....but definitely something along these lines.

Forest Torlay - reshape update

Finished adding the foliage/fur/hair.....I prefer the multi tones to just a single colour but I need to play around with some of the details a bit more and maybe adding a little something....and taking away too.....

Forest Torlay - reshape

I've arrived at a more refined shape and changed the proportions slightly.....I think these will definitely end up a tad more hairy, although a little bald right now.....

TRX - Ent

A little while ago I was sent a TRX figure by Zuchna to customise. TRX is a robot made from wood with articulated arms and stands about 8cm. I really like wooden figures and the simplicity of this one  means a lot of potential for customisation.....also the DIY version of this is a mere $15....a bargain if ever there was....

.....I have most of the idea for the custom finalised in my head and I've started work on it....there's a few technical problems to sort out but that's about it.....so far.....

.....ohnoes where's my legs!

So this is going to be called 'TRX - Ent' - for entomologist.....and that's about all the clues I'm giving at the moment.
